Job description

This role is based in Germany - remote or in (proximity) to our Duisburg and will require monthly (business) travel to The Hague.

The recruitment process for the role will start in the last week of May.

About the team:
In a small, ambitious and fast-growing scale-up, we’re building the People & Culture function, and we need someone to build with us. You have the chance to design the best team and impact the business from the start. Our team consists of a VP People, Talent Lead, People Ops specialist, and two talent acquisition specialists. We work closely with our office management colleagues. We have an interim senior HRBP and we’re now looking for a permanent member for our team.

Each quarter we decide as a team what the priorities are that need to be addressed to get closer to the best team and the best place. There is focus, so that we make an impact on the business. We take ownership and we deliver. We work together and support each other.

We’re building an equitable organization with clear growth paths, fair compensation, great onboarding, healthy people, and fun in-and-outside the office.

About the role:
As a trusted Business Partner, you connect the dots between people and business needs. You understand and drive strategic P&C topics, you consult managers, and you advise on all HR matters, such as illness, labor law, performance, growth, and leadership development.

You’re willing to pick up projects you’ve never done before. This will be useful since we work across different countries (NL, DE, BE and UK) and we will be growing.

To manage expectations, there will also be some operational tasks, given we are a scale-up and our team is small. While you execute, you will teach the rest of the team as you go.

What you’ll do

  • Coach and guide (senior) managers to top performance of their teams.
  • Run and own the performance management cycle (incl. PIPs, promotions and dismissals).
  • Identify any People & Culture topic that can be improved and create a project.
  • Take the lead in strategic People & Culture projects.
  • Work together with the People & Culture and Executive teams to build the best team and the best place.

Job requirements

Who you are:

  • You have affinity with the start- and scale-up environment. It is okay if not everything is running smoothly, yet. You like to bring order to chaos. You roll up your sleeves.
  • You believe in our values, and you’re creative in finding ways to anchor them in our culture. (We’re not the HR police)
  • You stand your ground when there are different opinions, also with senior colleagues.
  • You’re motivated by our mission.
  • You like to work with HR data.
  • You speak and write English and German.
  • You have 8 years of relevant work experience, of which 5 years as a business partner.
  • You’re a strong communicator and are good at building relationships.
  • You have working knowledge of German employment law.

Travel

  • We would like you to come visit our HQ in The Hague, the Netherlands once a month. If you work remote in Germany, we would also like you to visit the Duisburg office on a regular basis (how often depends on the business need).

What do we offer:

  • A dynamic and challenging environment
  • Opportunities for personal and professional growth
  • Competitive salary and benefits package
  • Annual Offsite: Bond with teammates at exciting locations

Eye strives to create an inspiring, inclusive culture where everyone feels heard, respected and included. We see the value of diverse teams and every day we work towards creating an inclusive environment. At Eye everyone is welcome.

Remote, Hybrid
