General Ledger Accountant

Eye Security is an early stage scale up (110+ employees across 4 countries). As we're looking to grow further, we're looking to hire the General Ledger (GL) Accountant to help our FP&A team with their daily operations and project work. The position can be based both in The Hague or Eindhoven offices.

What you will do:

• Processing financial and accounting transactions and resolving any related problems;
• Responsible for timely, correct and consistent financial data on group level;
• Performing the month-end tasks of all entities, ensuring the accuracy of the reported figures, including preparation of journal entries for monthly, quarterly and year-end close-to-record accruals
• Responsible for preparing a well-substantiated balance sheet file every month;
• Preparing internal and external monthly, quarterly and annual reports based on PowerBI reporting;
• Various (international) tax activities, such as payroll and income tax returns and VAT;
• Assisting with internal and external audits;
• Supporting and coaching other team members within the GL/Finance team;
• Checking the work of junior finance employees, mainly focused on the accounts payable- and receivable process and the reconciliation of suspense accounts;
• Support in compiling and/or submitting VAT returns;
• Review payments batches and controlling cash/Treasury;
• Establish and maintain internal contact regarding reports and process improvements;
• Performing additional ad-hoc tasks to support the wider finance team;
• Assisting with company wide projects relating to scalable finance (e.g. ERP implementation, various finance optimalizations)

What you will need:

• A relevant intermediate vocational education qualification (MBO+/HBO or equivalent);
• Key competencies: an accurate, stress-resistant, focused, hands-on, analytical and problem-solving team player, with attention for planning and organization;
• Previous experience in an accounting role and knowledge of ERP systems and reporting tools, such as Exact Online, Netsuite, PowerBi, Speedbooks.
• Proven experience with consolidated reporting
• Our ideal candidate has essential data-entry skills, an eye for detail and a familiarity with Accounts Payable and Receivable and other general-ledger-related tasks;
• Hands-on experience in month-end close activities, a very good understanding of all balance-sheet accounts
• Ability to work self independently and proactively taking responsibility, but as well a team player to align and coordinate with the finance team;
• Excellent verbal and written communication and reporting skills in English and Dutch
